Ama Georgina Cooking leaf soup (1)This fall, I’m excited to be traveling to West Africa to do some reporting. Ghana is among the countries I’ll visit, and I got a preview in writing this story for NPR last week about how one community survived an epic drought 500 years ago. Thanks to Amanda Logan, the archaeologist who is researching this history, for this beautiful photo of a woman who lives in the same region today cooking a nutritious soup from cassava leaves for her family.
